On Monday, the tribunal learned call records and data recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported child disappearance cases and remains unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate recorded message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "What if there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the message continued.

The panel was informed that through electronic messages, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, sent early photographs to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with the police force who collated the information, told the court there "didn't appear to be any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted family friends of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I will prove my position."

The court heard the co-defendant developed a association online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in the county in December 2024.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the time leading up to the appearance to Rothley, the county, in that winter.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in last November, planning trying to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the visit to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which expressed: "We are sitting near the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling private investigators. I desired to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
