Orbital Images Show Iran's Navy and Nuclear Facilities Struck by US-Israeli Strikes.

A wave of American and Israeli airstrikes has according to analysis destroyed or damaged no fewer than eleven Iran's navy ships since Saturday, recently obtained satellite images reveal, with missile bases and enrichment plants also sustaining hits.

Pictures of the southern Konarak naval naval base and the Bandar Abbas installation, which is located on the Strait of Hormuz and houses the main command of the Iranian navy, reveal black smoke pouring from a number of warships on recent days.

Maritime Assets Sustained Substantial Damage

Among the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, Iran's biggest warship which had functioned as a drone carrier. Orbital photos indicated thick smoke pouring from the ship which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Analytical reports suggest that no fewer than five ships at Bandar Abbas were "struck or destroyed". Pictures of the south end of the harbor depict plumes ascending from the IRINS Makran, while additional ships seem to be harmed, with a single one clearly on fire.

Over at the Konarak base, images reveal several stricken vessels, with intelligence reports identifying strikes against a half-dozen warships. Images taken on Monday also demonstrate that multiple facilities at the installation have been leveled.

"For many years the Tehran government has threatened international shipping," an American commander stated. "Now, there is not a single vessel from Iran underway in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Sea of Oman, and we will persist."

A number of vessels reportedly sunk may have been concealed in aerial photos by cloud or smoke, or struck at sea, and have not been independently verified. Additional information suggested that one Iranian ship was going down off the coast of Sri Lankan waters, resulting in a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Bases and Nuclear Facilities Hit

The destruction of Iranian missile bases and the prevention of nuclear weapons development were declared as other goals of the military strikes. Aerial imagery also depicted impacts against the southern Khorgu and northwestern Tabriz facilities, and at the Konarak air base, where weapons bunkers and fortifications were hit.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e drone drone base west of the city of Kermanshah, significant destruction was observed to sheds, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Destruction was also noted at a radar site at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern parts of the country, close to the border with neighboring nations.

Significantly, the latest wave of attacks have apparently focused on installations at the Natanz complex – long said to be at the center of the country's nuclear programme. An international watchdog stated that the damaged buildings were used for entry to the site's underground enrichment facility and that "no nuclear fallout" was likely.

Broader Impact and Assessment

Military analysts stated that the offensive appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iranian navy's ability to carry out conventional attacks using its biggest warships. But, it was noted that Iran still has the option to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of drones, small submarines and its so-called "clandestine network" of oil ships.

The overall scope of the damage caused to Iran's defense infrastructure remains unclear, with strikes said to be continuing. Photos also reveals considerable damage to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.

Numerous of non-military structures also appear to have been struck in the capital and throughout Iran after the hostilities escalated. Casualty figures from ground sources suggest that many hundreds of civilians may have been killed in the strikes.

Amid continuing hostilities, monitoring of aerial photographs will persist to assess the unfolding battlefield picture.
