Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the central business district on the afternoon of Tuesday.

Officials stated the forty-year-old presenter was confronted by three individuals, one of whom opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.

The reason behind the attack remains unclear and no suspects have been apprehended are in custody, as per the official statement.

How It Happened

Law enforcement said that Stock was attacked as he was leaving a building near the Carlton Centre.

He had devoted time at the property supervising the installation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unidentified individuals, it was reported.

"It is alleged the victim was approached by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," authorities confirmed.

CCTV footage reportedly captured a suspect with dreadlocked hair and clad in what looked like a protective services outfit shooting on Stock before fleeing.

The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but collapsed on the opposite side of the road.

Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and it was not a robbery during the incident.

Crucial forensic evidence, like spent shells, were found at the location.

Police have appealed eyewitnesses who may have seen the suspects to assist with the investigation.

"Evidence suggests they walked a long distance after the shooting, and police have been attempting to locate them to determine their whereabouts," added an official.
